"nobody better pinch ME!"
Well, our Small Frys have a new house!!! It's appropriate that I write about PATRICK on St. Patrick's Day, right??? LOL!!!! Yep, PATRICK (Who is NOT a Saint!) , Kelley and Ryder are now Pelham residents! they have a new little house in the Pelham area, straight down Hwy 31 ,(about 15- 20 minutes from here), almost to Alabaster. They have been moving all week-end and, while they still have a few things left , they will more than likely spend the night in their new home tonight. (they are waiting to have the Water turned on). I haven't been inside it yet, but will probably help Kelley take a load today so I will make some pictures and post some as soon as I can. So happy for them! I know they are tired of trying to live in 2 rooms ! So thankful that the weather co-operated this week-end and that they got in between rain showers! One nice sized truck got everything in so no more trips to the storage where they had everything loaded. So, hurrah and hurrah! Now I feel like they are REALLY home, knowing they have sunk some roots in Pelham. Patrick will be starting school soon (he is working with a friend now) and Kelley is working retail where she used to before she moved until a Nursing Job comes in! So, all seems to be going well for them so far....Just heard from them that their water didn't get turned on yet, so one more night left having our Small Frys.
As far as what's going on with me, others have asked , since I'm off Facebook??? I have just laughed at all the emails/texts/running into people , everywhere! From having friends come up to me while eating out to the grocery store to church to the Post office who have actually noticed I am off FB! That makes me think 2 things. One, I must have entertained a whole lot of folks with my mundane life and , that in turn, brings to my attention that just maybe that shows me I am a little too visible! LOL! And, Two, realizing that a whole lot of info comes thro on FB! New babies/engagements/sad news such as deaths/people who are sick---info that before came through phone calls or emails , now comes thro FB posts! Wow, life has changed, even in the past few years on how people communicate. I'm not saying it's wrong/bad---it's actually a great way to keep up with people, albeit it sometimes strange to hear things about certain people on FB vs. other means of communicating.Just interesting....
Like I mentioned, I have run into so many people, like at church yesterday, 2 people immediately came up to me asking me questions about being "off" ("How do you do it?" ummm, don't get on) and filling me in on interesting things going on that I have missed! HAHAHAHA! Again, it's so strange how we have turned into this SOCIAL MEDIA WORLD. And, I am part of it! And, yet, while being totally off, (I do still post some pix of Instagram, tho!), I can honestly say I don't miss ALL it. I miss SOME of it.
PERSONALLY-I don't miss: I don't miss pointed remarks to people to make a point/I don't miss mean spirited people (thankfully, not many that I know)/I don't miss sarcasm/ I don't miss politicizing/I don't miss whiners/I don't miss complainers/I don't miss those who post judgemental posts.
I DO miss: seeing my besties/ I miss positive people/ I miss kind people's posts/ I miss seeing pix of my friends and their family/I miss smiling in the morning at special friends posts/I miss my weather reports from friends across the country/I miss seeing people's traveling pix/ I miss seeing scriptures that give hope, not judging/ I miss the JOY that I DO see so often from friends and strangers alike.
SO, if I weigh the good and bad, the good comes out on top. I remember when we went to Israel , the first thing our tour guide said to us was, "Everyone in the Holy Land isn't holy"!!!! Well, the same could be said of FaceBook---not everyone on FB can be nice/be your friend or even like you, but that's part of taking the good with the bad. ANd, for the most part, most everyone I know is super nice/good. And I'll take the good any day! Hey, that's why I'm such a good Methodist girl. I"m just OOZING with grace & unconditional love!!!!!! LOL
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY. WEAR GREEN (and don't be mean! LOL)!
