I don't know why that poster (that I made from the Magic Kingdom) makes me laugh so much but it does. Anyway, just thought I'd share it to give you a chuckle today!
........No great thoughts today. Just chillin' on a Thursday. And getting ready to work on a bona fide scrapbook today! Haven't done too many "hands on" scrapbooks in awhile, mostly I make them online these days and I realized, after being asked to make one, that I truly miss buying embellishments/paper/glue! So, I was thrilled when asked to make one for a teacher who had to retire early due to health issues.
It's weird, I know, but I love laying out pages and trying to visualize how the album will look when finished. I do the same sort of thing online now, but, it's just not the same! The result can be similar, but there is something about seeing 3-D embellishments on a page vs. flat ones. Nothing is prettier than a paper butterfly or flower on a page to make it unique and special! And glitter. Nooo, I don't like glitter. Not at ALL! LOL
...I haven't fully "retired" from making REAL scrapbooks, by any means, but I know when I do one it will take me several days and that my dining room table will be a mess. (Yes, I have a scrapbook room, but somehow, it all ends up on the dining room table! LOL!)! I feel almost like I'm peeping over someone's shoulder as I put the, (endearing) , notes into the scrapbook from the teacher's friends and co-workers that my friend brought me to put in the album. Now I feel as if I know this teacher. She taught at Hoover Schools but none of my kids had her. Darn, I wish they had!!! After reading these notes and letters from students, I see what an amazing teacher/friend/woman she is. What a legacy she leaves behind that is recognized, from former students and co-workers (aka teachers). It makes me want to think of ways to enhance the album itself, to make it even MORE special, but working on it makes me realize my part is only a vehicle to house the beautiful words from the people who responded to share in it : by sending letters and notes and pictures. My part is so minimal, just making the album inviting to look at, but the inside, or "meat" of the album is the love poured into it from her friends. I feel blessed to be a part of this gift and hope my small contribution will connect and adhere the memories from others into a keepsake that she will look at again and again.
(That is if I can part with it , once it's finished!)!

I read a devotional today (surprise! and you thought that was just an excuse that I made up to take a break from FaceBook, right? LOL) and just a thought to think about today...
from my FAVORITE (and old--copyright 1925~!)devotional book: Streams in the Desert: I found this random quote:
"Obedience is the fruit of faith; patience, the bloom on the fruit"--Christina Rossetti
(I need both).
